Who operates this site

Keys to the City is a consumer marketing and education brand owned and operated by Project Baseline, a marketing company based in Chicago, Illinois. Keys to the City is a marketing service, not a lender, and nothing here is an offer or commitment to lend.

What we are not

  • We are not a mortgage lender or a mortgage broker, and we do not originate, arrange, or negotiate loans.
  • We are not a government agency and are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any government program.
  • We are not a down payment assistance fund, a grant program, a nonprofit, or a union benefit.
  • We do not take loan applications, pull credit, or make any credit or eligibility decisions.

What actually happens with your information

When you complete our quiz and check the consent box, our team reviews your answers and, if you asked to be connected, shares them with a licensed loan officer who can discuss what programs you may qualify for. All discussion of loan products, rates, and eligibility happens with that licensed professional, never with this site. Quiz answers are used only for marketing matching and are never a prequalification or eligibility decision.

How we are paid

Project Baseline may receive flat platform and marketing-service fees from licensed professionals who participate in the program. Our compensation is never based on whether you apply for, are approved for, or close a loan, and you never pay us anything.

Program information

Homebuyer programs referenced on this site are operated by third parties. Program terms change, funds can be limited or unavailable, and eligibility rules are set by the program providers, not by us. Always confirm current details with the program provider or a licensed professional.

Calls and texts

Contact happens only with your consent, given at the point of submission. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to any text to opt out at any time. We keep a record of your consent, including its time and wording.

Fair housing

We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the Nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.
